moira, another big weapon? organization. sounds like you have that covered! also, ruthless efficiency.

and marty, i agree. somehow, someway, in the end it works itself out. even for those among us who had have some truly difficult obstacles (ap, bc issues, child custody issues, low income, arrest, etc), things have gotten (or will get) sorted out with some time.

and to all of the 24thers: good luck and godspeed.

Question about medical results and turnaround time for the embassy:

My fiance had his medical today (Friday April 24, 09) and his interview is Tuesday, April 28, 09. Most probably his medical results will not be at the embassy on the day of his interview. So we were wondering, in the case that he gets approved (without AP/AR by some miracle :innocent: ) will they keep his passport and send it together with his X-ray to him visa SMS once the embassy gets his medical results? Or will they tell him to keep his passport and wait until the embassy contacts him that they got his medical results and ask for him to send his passport to the embassy?

Just curious (and wishfully hoping no AP/AR) :innocent:

Am I reading your timeline correctly KAT&Allie? London received your docs on 21st of April and you received Packet 4 with your interview date on the 24th of April?

Sort of . This morning I phoned that expensive line at London Embassy and he told me that the appointment letter has been sent. Since I'm at work and my postman doesn't arrive till 1:30 pm I have no idea whether the letter will be there on not when I get home. Packet 3 took 4 days to arrive. So no, I haven't received packet 4 as yet ;). And yes, I've sent it on 20th April and they received it on 21th April. Sorry you've been waiting so long. Have you thought to contact your congressman about it?

Nah ... it's only been four weeks ... and some have waited much longer than I have ... I just need to learn to be patient. Maybe your pack was processed faster because you put a wedding date on the form?

I'll just keep calling DOS ..... maybe they'll give me an interview date if I annoy them enough lol ...

Good luck ... hope the postie brings your letter today!

Thanks Moira. I did put the wedding date on (12 May) which is now the same as the interview date so something's got to give :). I've just emailed the Embassy with a request to bring the interview forward so we'll see what happens. If not, oh well, we'll have to postpone the wedding - again :). Getting quite used to it now...

I don't think DOS can give you an interview date regardless of how often you call them. When I phoned them yesterday and enquired whether the Embassy got my Packet 3 at all since the Royal Mail said it was delivered, they said that questions like that can only be answered by the Embassy staff (that expensive phone line again). But it’s worth a try. Certainly cannot lose much. Good luck.

Anyone know what time the earliest I can get to the US Embassy at?

I have a time for 0830am for a CR-1 interview, but I read it is a "first-come, first-served" affair, so clearly in my benefit to doss outside until they open up. I heard 0730am is the earliest they'll let you line up, can anyone confirm or deny that? Many thanks!

Tomorrow will be exactly a year since I started this journey, fingers crossed I'm nearing the end straight!

Also wondering, so I can make an attempt at a roughly accurate time to book my return train ticket, how long it takes inside. I know it's not an exact science, but if anyone on a CR-1 can let me know how long it took them, I'd appreciate it.
