I rang the Dept of State US helpline 1-202-663-1225 and then press 1 and then 0 to speak to a person - they will ask for for your case number and names and will provide you with an update on where your case is at in the system. It is much cheaper for me to ring them via Skype than the premium rate embassy number here in the UK.

Omigawsh, I do that too. Because I'm in a university dorm, I don't have a landline, and it's absurdly expensive anyhow. They're a lot more friendly in the US, I find.

Long story short.....

I need to get a joint sponsor, even though we have enough assets! The tax return for 2006 was a little short. So as a result I have to send the required documents, along with my passport to the Embassy (asap of course ) and they will then issue the visa. Hey-Ho! Story of my visa journey! I have not feelings anymore with regards to the whole process - it's all been a long up hill struggle and I shouldn't have thought any different of today.

So...since arriving back from the Embassy I have been on the phone having a 3 way convo, and my Father-in-law to be has overnighted (Fed-ex) me a I-134 - which should be here very soon.

To top it all I'm sick and I REALLY need a drink. :dead: Shaz is more upset than me. :crying:

Here is a question for anyone that has gone to the interview.

My company is laying off and finding reason to fire people to save money. I am really worried about all of this since I am going through the visa process.

If I become unemployed will they know? I have my w2 tax for 2008 already and ones for the past two years. Do they really look at this info? What can I do to??????/

Any advice would be great!! :crying:

You would also need a letter from your company detailing your postition and amount earned. In your case it's probably a good idea to have a co-sponsor ready just in case.

I'm really confused. Do I definitely need Hals tax returns for 2006/7? I thought I could just have the bank statements and a letter from his employer? Do I definitely need this information? Marmite - I'm sorry but it'll be sorted soon!

I hear lots of baby violins! :jest: I'm OK, really.

I hope to get the Doc's by Thursday, and sent with the courier the next day. Guessing then I will get it middle of the following week. But hey, I'm not banking on anything anymore...EVER!
