Abbreviation for country on forms

8 posts in this topic

Recommended Posts

Hi, my wife is correcting the G-325A that I sent her and we are having some confusion over which abbreviation to use for "Country" on the form.

I originally put PH. My wife's uncle told her it was Phil. I have also found on the internet PI (Philippine Islands)

Which one is the most correct, or does it really matter?

Also, maybe it would help others to put abbreviations in this thread for other countries!

Just an idea for giving back to this fine community of people. I've received SO MUCH help from this site already!

Thanks!

Andy

I have seen 3 different abbreviations for the Philippines but the proper one is RP... Republic of the Philippines. PI is stand for Philippine Island and PHI is short term for Philippines. USCIS will figure it once they read the actual documents. Goodluck!

Since I have a very long address longer that great wall of China, I used Phil if the space didn't permit me to write Philippines.

Claudeth spelled out 'Philippines' on her G-325

To bad as she used the wrong form!

Interesting, she has been here for 3 1/2 years so I would say she used the correct form
