Important K2 / follow to join question

In order to file for a K2 in the future does the child have to be marked as follow to join on the DS-156K or can this be done later? If we mark the child as follow to join later will any documents have to be provided at the initial visa interview?

This is very important to us as we want to be eligible for the K2 later but will not be prepared with any documents for the child at the initial interview. I want to make sure we're not shooting ourselves in the foot here!

What documents you filed, there is a line there stating if you have childrens ADD their names... check the forums above. You need to include those childs in your applications especially if they are under 18 years old.

I-129F has the child listed, we already received NOA2 but now the DS-156K asks if the child will follow to join. If I put yes will all of the child's documents/medical, etc have to be brought to the K1 appointment or can all of that be done later when the child actually intends to follow?
