Hi, I'm new to this, but I sent my I-129F into the Nebraska Service Center. I made the mistake of not having it as registered mail, so I'm hoping it made it to the Center. According to this website, Nebraska takes on average, 7 days to give a person their 1st NOA. I sent mine in 15 days ago and still haven't heard anything. I'm getting worried.

Should I wait another 5 days or so until I call someone?

Welcome to VJ... your petition may have been transferred to the California Service Center along with so many others.... be patient... you should hear something soon.

First lesson in this process: patience

Unfortunately

By the way... don't put too much stock in these timelines anymore. Do some browsing around the board and read about the effects of the IMBRA legislation....

8-30-05 Met David at a restaurant in Germany

3-28-06 David 'officially' proposed

4-26-06 I-129F mailed

9-25-06 Interview: APPROVED!

10-16-06 Flt to US, POE Detroit

11-5-06 Married

7-2-07 Green card received

9-12-08 Filed for divorce

12-5-08 Court hearing - divorce final

A great marriage is not when the "perfect couple" comes together.

It is when an imperfect couple learns to enjoy their differences.

I've been waiting 14 days for my first NOA from Nebraska since they received it so I know how you're feeling. From what i've learned so far, all you can do is wait, as patiently as possible...and yes I know its hard to be patient believe me!

We were married in Washington in August, we submitted our I-485, I130, I765, and I131 in Sept of 06 to the Chicago Lock Box, and got our Green card in January 07!!! Found this was much faster and easier than going through the K1 process.
