K1 W/ BENEFICIARY FROM MEXICO

I'm about the submit my k1 visa application, but I'm not sure which embassy/consulate will process my application. On form I-129F, question 19 states "Your fiance will apply for a visa abroad at the American embassy or consulate at" Then you have to fill out city and country.

For any of you that used the k1 fiance visa with a beneficiary from Mexico, what consulate/embassy did you put down?

My boyfriend/fiance lives in Jalisco, Mexico, so I am hoping that the embassy in Mexico city processes these types of visas. I e-mailed the Mexico city embassy, but NO RESPONSE FROM THEM.

So, I was wondering if you could help me out, what did you guys put for that question.

10/17/07: AOS interview in Los Angeles -- APPROVED, pending name check :(

02/08/08: Name check has cleared, Notice welcoming new resident is mailed out

02/12/08: Card Production ordered, woohoo

02/15/08: Notice welcoming new resident is received

02/21/08: GREEN CARD IN HAND

08/23/08: After 7 years together . . . Religious wedding ceremony and HUGE PARTY in Jalisco, Mexico (we deserve it)

08/24-08/30: Spend our honeymoon in Acapulco, Mexico

All Mexican immigration-type visas (IV, Ks) must interview at Juarez. Their K-1 process is very unique, so look for other posters going through Mexico for hints/tips. There is a thread dedicated to Juarez in the Regional Forum section of this site.

Just put Ciudad Juarez - that's it. No other Consulate in Mexico handles K1 visas. Mexico City will probably never reply to your email as they handle things like tourist visas.

Waiver approved after 10 months. Did NOT use a lawyer

It does seem that he's going to have to travel to Ciudad Juarez for the interview, but is it true, that at Ciudad Juarez, he can go without an interview as long as the visa has been approved? If this is true, then at least this bit of info. will make me happy.

Anyone who filed at Ciudad Juarez, please help. :)

Right - he WILL have is interview in Ciudad Juarez - that's the only place.

He will receive instructions from CDJ on what needs to be done to prepare for the interview. The interview is where the visa approval happens. Up until that point, all he will have is an approved petition. In the instructions it will state: As soon as you have obtained all of the documents that apply in your case, you can come to this Consulate any working day Monday thru Friday between 8:00 to 10:00 a.m.

Take a look at the CDJ consulate website and the Fiance Visa information there - it will give you a lot more information.
