NOA1-NOA2 question

I have a question? Our first documents were sent via a STUPID LAWYER!! He screwed the paperwork and cost us months bu not having original signatures. I was in SA at the time so we faxed them in like he said to and the papers came back three times! Finally he realized we needed orginial signatures like it clearly states and we rec'd our NOA1 and GOT A NEW LAWYER! Do you think this could slow down our NOA2 b/c he was stupid or do you think that it's fine and they are working on it? We rec'd an NOA1 approval but I am worried they will remember our papers and put us at the bottom

I dont think adjuticator's are going to hold a grudge because there may have been issues with your original petition so I wouldn't worry about that.

As far as your lawyer goes, in no way am I advocating this but this uscis interoffice memo may be the reason he/she thought the faxed signatures would be ok. It seems not all adjuticators are on the same page with this. Some will issue RFE's and some will not.

Whether something else slows you down depends very much on everything else being sent in.

Some people do need a lawyer. They either dont have the time to handle the petition themselves, or have red flags that need to be diffused from the start. However, attention to detail is extremely important and a lawyer who cant even master that needs to take the bar exam again.

For the OP- As KaR says, most adjud's dont hold a grudge. In fact, they probably dont even remember you. If you've got your NOA1 now then you should be well on your way. If you're concerned, call the 800 number for USCIS and ask if they rcv'd the updated paperwork. Good luck for a speedy approval!

As stated above, some people do require lawyers. However, even if you are using the services of a lawyer, it is still ultimately your own responsibility to make sure things are done correctly.
