I 551 Temp Green Card

I just had my interview and the IO issued me an I551 stamp on my passport

Is that only thing (passport w/ I551) I need to travel oversea?

Do I need to submit another I94 when I return to the states?

Do I wait on the permanent resident/citizen line in the immigration/custom area in the airport?

Please help!

I-551 = GREEN-CARD.

You can travel with just passport and I-551 stamp, later after getting the actual card you then need to carry passport and green-card when returning from a trip abroad.

Green-card holders are US Residents, they do not need an I-94 in passport, and do not need to fill one out when returning to the USA.

You use the permanent resident/Citizens line at POE when re entering the USA

Use passport and stamp to apply for SSN, and then apply for state ID, most states want SSN.

im under IR2- child of USC. my category is not found on the drop down list. in applying for a state ID i must also present SSN aside form the stamp.. Edited by nbfsb
