OK so, as many of you know I'm a bit ####### about being late for places, and altho Im not nervous about the interview - I'm starting to worry about getting there in time, or rather, if I need to be there when they open even tho my interview isn't til 10am

You're welcome to my input lol.

Mine was at 9am and I was back in Beckenham by 12:45 and that was after making numerous calls and sending hundreds of texts whilst sitting in the park opposite!

Timeline

You should arrive at least an hour before the doors open. The earlier you get there the earlier you will get your interview. It is done on first come first serve basis. They give you a number as you go in so the earlier you are the sooner you will get your interview because it is done in number order. Obviously if your interview is much later in the day, then they won't let you in but you should be ok for a 10am interview.

Good Luck

oh wow - so even if your interview time says 10am, but you are, say #3 in line and inside waiting and get called to the window at, for example, 930am - you might get seen BEFORE your 10am appointment?

I was only there 20 minutes before my appointment. But that's because I didn't think it would take me that long to walk from the tube to the embassy. But I still made it. I would recommend getting their a little earlier than your appointment, though. :)

Didn't work like that for me on 30th May..........you line up in time order, so there is a queue for 9am, 9.15am 9.30am etc. The 9.30am line didn't enter until 9.20am and then you had to line up for security scan before entering the building to pull your ticket. They checked your interview letter, and a 9.30 could not get in on the 9.00am line.

DCF is different, especially if you are with the USC spouse, you just walk in ahead of everybody that's on line.

I think it really does depend on what happens on the day.............GOOD LUCK

Awww :luv::blush: Thanks guys - its not til next week - tho I do appreciate all the good luck wishes :)

I guess I'll go early then - as it seems I'll have to wait SOMEWHERE so I might as well calm my 'must not be late' nerves and wait AT the Embassy  I'm such a dweeb I know - I worry about the small stuff cos the big stuff just takes care of itself :D

I really am not worried about the interview - tho nearer the time, as Ive decided now to get there early, I'm sure I'll be fussing that I have all the paperwork instead, LOL

Yeah! Make sure you don;t go with someone who starts asking for random things!

On the way there, my husband started asking: did you bring the passports? did you bring the police certificate? did you bring the train tickets? - bear in mind that all of these were in the same folder, so there was no chance that I had brought one and left the other (and hubby knew this!).... That made me more nervous!

I was in and out of the embassy in london so quick I had time for mcdonalds breakfast at Liverpool Street after the deed was done.

Get there early as the lines to get in can be rather long.
