hey all my fiancee is usually the one who writes to all the e-mail and internet grps about this stuff, but recently we got our interview date set for February 25th, I am happy to get the interview date but it is a few more months than we both expected, My fiancee looks at these pages religiously for updates and news on the K-1 visa.

So today she logged onto visa journey and noticed that people who filed for their final step before getting their interview letter weeks almost even a month after ours are getting interviews in early to mid January. Has anyone seen anything like this happen before? I just want to know if there is something wrong with our file and that's why it's been delayed? or did we just have such aweful luck to get an interview date after everyone else?

I myself am wondering why this is like this, i'm trying to stay as positive as possible and say we just got the short end of the stick, but I am starting to worry it might be something more serious.

If anyone has any idea why this is i would greatly appreciate some sort of explanation, My fiancee is absolutely devastated and it breaks my heart to see her like this.

thanks for any replies

HI SP and SK.

Same here...I dont know why everyone is schedule for late interview. Ithink its because of the Holidays. My Fiance just called the Manila Embassy to set an appointment for interview and the latest he could have is JANUARY 12. Then he told him ..if he gets approve he has to wait for 6 months or more  .....So im kind of unhappy about it..

First of all, it would really help if you filed in your timeline and profile. We can't help answer questions or speculate when this isn't filled in. You can only look at timelines as "estimates", since every file is individual. What is the beneficiary's country? Your screen name is familiar, is she from Canada? If she is, it depends on what Consulate you're getting an interview at. Montreal is notoriously slow. When did you get your NOA2? Is she just looking at timelines from when people first filed their petitions? Was it CSC or VSC your petition went to? Again, without some indication of where you both are, dates you applied, when you got notices, it's really hard to conjecture.

Lastly, it's all mute now that you have an interview date. Rejoice! Know that it won't be long until you'll be together!

As Carla stated, it has everything to do with the Embassy you will be interviewing with. February seems a long way off now but in the scheme of things, two months isn't so bad. There is a possibility you can contact the Embassy to try to have it expedited... doesn't work for all.

Manila does have a unique process but it's possible your fiance misunderstood. After approval you are put into AP which COULD take up to 6 months or more. I don't believe most people wait that long at all. Read here for more info on the process in Manila.

good luck.

Hi SK :)

I'm assuming you started a new profile as your fiancee has your main profile. For people who are wondering, I think that they are going through Montreal, and I am one of the others they are referring to. My papers were sent back 2 weeks after these lovely people sent back their P3 to Montreal, and my interview is Jan 15th, while theirs is at the end of Feb.

Like I posted in the other thread, the only thing I can think is maybe there is more to check into your background then other people. Not that it is bad things, but maybe you had lived in more places, held more jobs etc.

The latest MTL dates are complelety backwards though. Seems the people that sent back their P3's earlier got feb dates, I have the 15th, and someone that sent theirs a week after me has theirs on the 13th of Jan.

I am sorry that you have extra time to wait hun, but at least the uncertainty of knowing when you'll be together is over.
