hi all!

on a k1 visa interview, presentation of the affidavit of support should be accompanied by the income tax returns as read on our embassy website.

it also says or evidence of current employment is needed.

my question is ...

arent the tax returns evidence enough that he is employed?

if not, then what are these "evidences"?

pay stubs? photocopy of his work ID? any ideas?

i asked for a certificate of employment from him - cos thats how we do it over here as evidence of a current job. he is employed at the sherrifs dept but he said they dont give out certificates of employment. people at his department never even handed out one ever.

were both clueless now.

please help. thank you very much.

Tax returns reflect previous years. The sponsor should also submit pay stubs. I submitted 12 pay periods. Of course I am a believer of 'more is better' :P

Certificate of Employment is one of the evidences needed but if your fiance can't get to his employer you can explain if they ask, you can use his pay stubs and copy of his company ID , tax returns including all the stuff that concern your relationship like remittances, pics, emails etc..

The letter from the sheriff or other official, stating that he was hired on __, that he is employed as a ___ at a salary of __ will also be very helpful.
