What would you do with an unwanted Christmas gift?

I am bored as I wait for the folks at NVC to process our approved petition and forward it to the American Embassy. It’s been at NVC for over 2 weeks now and I don’t have the slightest clue as to when the papers will be sent to Manila.

Meanwhile, as I aimlessly ponder and momentarily forget the visa matter, my thoughts are centered around the upcoming holidays and the Christmas gifts to be given and to be received. And as I pound on the keys of my computer, nothing that I type is related to my work, but instead, the VJ website fills up the screen.

Then, I come up with this question. If you receive a present that you don’t like this Christmas, what would you do with it? Do you regift (recycle) it? Do you throw it away, or, do you donate it to charity, or, do you return it to the store for refund or exchange, or, do you have any other idea?

For me, it will be a waste if i'll keep the gift that i don't really like as i am sure that i won't ever use it, so i'll just give to someone whom will like it, but ,if the gift came from someone i love or is close to me then, i'll keep it caz it has sentimental value. Edited by o0pink0o

Hi! You have already mentioned all possible options regarding unwanted gifts. But you have failed to mention one thing which in my opinion is more important. You have failed to wholeheartedly thank the giver. It is always about the thought that you were given something and not just the gift alone. Be thankful for all the good graces that you receive. :)

I'd hurl it in the face of the person who gave it to me and shout obscenities.

I'll give it to a relative or a friend who might have a need for it. Not as a gift though and I'll tell them where it came from. :star:

Hola Senorita Teresita!

Por supuesto! I would be most gracious to giver of the gift, and when I got home, I would put it in my Balikbayan box.

Tenga un buen dia!

I agree with pink, if you don't like the gift, give it to someone who likes it.

I happen to received few from past Christmas... I usually keep them somewhere in our storage room.

If time permits, that I happen to see it again, that's the time I'll have it re-gift.

"Our Wedding Prayer"

Lord, help us to remember when we first met,and the strong love that grew between us.

To work the love into practical things so nothing can divide us

Grant us a Love that grows stronger with each passing year.

We ask for words both kind and loving

and for hearts always ready to ask forgiveness as well as to forgive.

Guide us to overcome every challenge

and keep our dreams pure to each other always.

Dear Lord,we put our marriage into Your hands.Amen

If your heart acquires strength, you will be able to remove blemishes from others without thinking evil of them.

I'd regift it!

Just be sure to give it to someone who doesn't know the one who gave the gift to you :) . I have a friend who receive the very gift she gave to a friend the year before :(
