I am tired of waiting on AP and decided I would make a trip to my husband soon, like after the Holidays . I know the men may not be too difficult in getting presents. Electronics.... now that I post that I'm thinking the women might like all the gadgets too, but sounds costly

The women, I am not sure about. I asked my husband and he tells me not to worry, but I feel I should at least try to take something for his aunts.

Any ideas?......

Met husband July 2005

and they didn't actually wear much makeup and didn't see jewelery..... but the purse sounds good.

I agree on makeup but my MIL LOVED this cute makeup set I got her (you know the ones they always have around the holidays? Target, Kohl's, etc) She doesn't wear much but loves using it for special occasions. I also bought her a lighted mirror (double sided) she LOVES IT! Great for doing her brows/threading!

They do like jewelry but you'd do much better buying it there than here! Just no earrings...:P Bracelets, rings, etc. Clothing works for younger girls/ladies. Pajama sets and cute jogger outfits are wonderful...:)

Each time I brought my sil's presents I ended up going home with more than I got them. For some reason they thought it was only their job to buy for me, not the other way around. Anyways, I'm not sure if their taste is the same as who you are buying for since they're both in their early twenties and not rich by any means (other than rich in love...I miss them so much!):

gum - my youngest sil LOVES gum so I bought her ever flavor imaginable.

candy - they loved all the sour candy that I got them, sour gummy bears, sour watermelons, etc. etc.

hello kitty stickers - they're into them but find out what your peeps are into and get something they can put on their cellphones.

disney magnets - they crave anything with the big black rat. lol

chocolates - I got them assorted Lindt truffles and it was a big hit!

Good luck and I'm so jealous that you're going there. We wanted to go in April together but since our financial situation has taken a turn for the worse we'll be lucky if just he can go alone.

what is your state noted for? there are post cards showing different places, tourists books, magnets for ice box, coffee cups, ours have alot of indian culture so i took some what i call light catchers . One of my books showed route 66 and my bil spoke up and knew of this road, I also have given them coffee cups showing my work, they really like that, and we have sweat shirts, pens so many things. If you have alot of pictures take them to walgreens and get a calander made showing different things you did there, different family members etc. I did one that included alot of the family, then i did one showing basically our neice in each month. Battery games, mom and dad both have diabetes so i send them foot lotion they really love that and socks for diabetics, if i think of more ill let u know

I agree with makeup and perfumes. I brought some cute kitchen towels for tetah. Now is the perfect time of year to buy all of the make up sets and such too!

Pretty placemats to use for special company instead of newspaper or whatever the family usually uses is a good idea for the older women with households. My friend from sri lanka gave me that gem of an idea ;)

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!
