Hi all! Well we finally received our Packet 3 last week from the London Embassy. Included in it was the IV15 checklist. I had been looking for everywhere for a version to download so I could send the Packet 3 into them without waiting for them to mail ours. Unfortunately, I could not find it anywhere and I had to wait. But for anyone in that same situation I have uploaded the checklist to a .pdf file.

Feel free to download it if you want to get a jump start on the Embassy paperwork for your K3 (although I'm told it's the same checklist if you are going for a K1)

That's very helpful - thanks so much for posting it!

So - was there anything about the forms they sent in packet 3 that made them look different from what one might download and print from a government website? Any magic pencil scratchings or codes on them?

I'm wondering if there's any reason one couldn't amass all the materials, have the forms put together so that the second one receives word that the file has arrived at the embassy - those bad boys get popped straight in the mail and poof! magically arrive while the packet 3 they mail out is still on its slow way . . . .

AND: I think it would be great if the community - as a whole - kept its collective eye out for changes in the packet checklist and/or forms and posted examples later on for us to see. For instance - I note this upload is dated "June 2005" in the corner - so if anyone sees a later date on another form they get later - let us know!

All of the forms that came in the packet were precisely the same as you can find here on VJ or on the Embassy website. The only unique form is the checklist itself. I had already filled out and printed the forms just as you are suggesting. It was so frustrating because the only thing missing was that bloody checklist & I couldn't find a current copy anywhere! Once I had that checklist signed I was able to pop the packet into the post on the following day. It would have saved a few days if we had been able to do it the way you suggest though!

As my posting date suggests, we received the June 2005 version of the checklist in our June 2006 packet. They may have updated it since then but I know that is what they were using this past summer. You make a great suggestion - hopefully someone who has recently received their packet 3 could post & let everyone know if there is a newer version. It is such a tremendous help to have this site as a resource!

I just want to check, whether i mis-read the attachment or not,

When it says to enclose wedding certificates and divorce certificates, does that mean if my fiance was married before, we have to enclose both the wedding and divorce certificates. We only have his divorce papers, not an actual certificate, so will we have to send away for one?

Your fiance's the USC, isn't he? In which case, you should be ok without his marriage certificate. There's been a bit of debate about this and I was worried about the same thing - sounds like some consulates might ask to see the USC's marriage certificate from previous marriages, but when I asked this everyone who answered said they weren't asked for it. I had my interview a couple of weeks ago, and I wasn't asked for it either - a relief, as I didn't have a copy with me! All that stuff on the checklist (I mean, birth certificate, marriage certificate, police certificate etc) is, I think, referring to the visa applicant - ie the non-USC. Obviously you need to send a copy of your fiance's divorce decree (edited to add: and yours, if you've been married previously) with the I-129F - and be prepared to take the original or a certified copy to your interview, just in case they do ask to see it, because they can ask to see originals of photocopied documents sent with the petition.

Hope that helps - didn't mean to ramble quite so much! :)

I'm still confused on this 'will they or won't they ask for marriage certificates from previous marriages' thing. My fiance will have both mine and his in hand at the interview - just in case!

I was worried about not having it, and if I'd had my way, C. would have ordered a copy of it just to be on the safe side! However, when I mentioned it to him, he said 'that's stupid, they can't really need that, they already know I'm divorced!', so no copy was ordered. I am inclined to go for total overkill on these things and take everything just in case, so I was a bit worried they'd ask for it... but all I was asked was whether *I* had been married before - if the answer to that had been yes, I expect that would be the point I'd be asked for my previous marriage certificate & divorce decree (although they obviously knew the answer was 'no', it was right there on the forms!)... no mention of his previous marriage at all, though. But like I said, if it had been up to me, I'd have had a copy with me just in case - regardless of whether or not anyone has ever actually been asked to produce a copy of the USC's (previous) marriage certificate in a London interview!

Thanks for uploading the checklist. But just as a warning (sorry, I know it is frustrating), but sending the forms in early will not make a difference.

I had my file transferred to London and as soon as I knew they had the file, albeit an electronic copy, I sent them all the forms required in packet 3, including the checklist.

I was hoping I could speed up the process.

But, the embassy were not going to process anything until they had the paper copy of the file (takes up to a month from when they get the electronic copy) and only then will they look through the file and send out packet 3.

I guess they ignored all the forms I sent them as they got them too early. A few weeks later I recieved packet 3, with forms identical to those I had already posted them. I resent the forms and am now waiting for the infamous packet 4!!!!

I know it is frustrating, all this waiting, but the London Embassy really does things at it's speed. Unfortunately we cannot speed up the process by sending things in early. Sorry! But, on the plus side, when Packet 3 did arrive, I had copies of everything so I was able to send the forms back to them the same day!!

Good luck

I'm just hitting the NVC about now. Do they send the cases electronically to London by default or do you have to request it? I saw a Vietnam filer who said the NVC had sent theirs electronically as well, which is why I ask.

Don't really see the advantage to it anyway (if they won't process it w/out the physical forms).

I think they send the electronic copy in all cases. But London will not proceed until they have the hard copy, which can take up to a month, depending on the courier service.

ur case was a bit different however in that it had accidentally been sent to Honduras instead of England, so we had to request that it be transferred to London. This meant that we knew exactly what date the paper copay and electronic copies were sent.

Hope this helps!

It does, thanks.

But I had to laugh that they sent your case to Honduras first. Guess they wanted it to get a suntan before it went to Blighty! Though I'm sure you weren't laughing when it happened - it still strikes me a bit funny!
