I am not sure why they got our interview in before christmas but these are the possibilities:

The Senators office got involved. OR

I sent an email on the reply of submitting the RFE requesting a possible timeline for the interview and told them I wanted to see him on New Years Day and needed to know if I should plan another trip over.

The notice of interview was the embassy's reply to the above question.

Don't give up hope!

I have tried to find the email addy to the embassy in London... Can you give it to me please .. thanks :)

You MUST have the weekly code in the subject line! Have to call them to get it.

LondonConsular@state.gov

maybe I should phone or email the embassy hotline then! I may already have a date set for me, just nothings come through the post and we keep missing the dos

Can't hurt!

Remember the DOS weren't even showing the embassy's receipt of our RFE and I got the email for his interview!

The reply for emails are taking roughly 2 weeks - and the silly person you talked to before gave you the 11 week senario - communication and file updating are NOT their forte - so don't pin to much on it!!!

But all you can do is try it!

LOADS OF POSITIVE THOUGHTS for you!

Thanks lorriq and everyone for all your help, I'll phone the embassy on Monday and ask for the current stays of my application, I'll let u all know how it goes.

Any news?

Any news?

Actually, I've never called to receive the weekly code, and they've replied to both of the emails I've sent (including sending us our interview dates). We might have just gotten lucky, but it definitely worked!

?Were you mailing from a .co.uk address or a .com? Curiousity, and glad you got through!

It was from a .edu--my work email. I hadn't even heard about the weekly number, so I didn't know to call--I just put our London case number in the subject line and hit send!

Don't necessarily believe that--I got that message (which apparently became standard after 7/7), but they replied a couple days later. Weirdly, the next time I emailed I got a totally different email, which basically said they would get back to me in a few days and not to harass them or they'll delete all my emails!!!

When I emailed using the code this is what they send:

Your message has been received by the Consular Information Unit. We are

currently averaging three to four days to answer email correspondence.

There is no mechanism for "status checks" while a nonimmigrant visa

application is being processed. Inquiries concerning cases which

require administrative processing or background checks, and which have

been pending less than 60 days, will not be answered.

Please do not, under any circumstances, send a duplicate or follow-on

e-mail. Repeat messages slow down our response time, and we reserve the

right to permanently delete all e-mails from senders who transmit repeat

messages or status checks.

Sincerely,

Consular Information Unit

It is the auto reply. But I have heard others get the "it has been deleted" as well only to get a response later on.

You may too!
