I have been married for 6 months now and havent filed for AOS. How bad is my situation? My husband doesnt seem to care about it and I dont think he knows how important it is for me to file for AOS. How can I explain this to him? Any words to help explain my situation to him would be highly appreciated. Also, Im curious after filing for AOS how long do we have to wait to obtain Greencard? Thanks again!

So long as you were married before your I-94 expired 99.9% of the time you won't have any problems with regard to staying in the country. However, if it is important to your emotional well-being to adjust status at this time then I believe you should be supported in every way and your needs should not be ignored by those closest to you. Perhaps you could sit down with your husband and explain to him that it is important to you that you apply and obtain a legal status as soon as possible as you feel that obtaining legal residency and eventually citizenship will help you to settle in the new country and able to "feel at home" and not stuck in limbo.
