DRIVER´S LICENCE RENEWAL

OK, GUYS!

I get a California driver´s license that has expired on october 2008. So, I am planning to be back in US in januray sometime and I need to be able to drive around legally by the time I move there.

So, my question is AM I ABLE TO GET AND DRIVE IN CALIFORNIA WITH INTERNATIONAL DRIVER´S LICENSE, BRAZILIAN DRIVE´S LICENSE OR NOT....

AND, IF I ALREADY HAVE CALIFORNIA DRIVER´S LICENSE EXPIRED, IS IT EASY AND FAST TO RENEWAL IT OR NOT...

Is your licence from Brazil in english? If it isnt then you will need to get a IDP (Internation Drivers Premit) ALL THIS IS is a translation of your drivers licence from your home country. This topic is so old, search the forums for IDP

The State of California does NOT recognize an International Driving Permit (IDP) as a valid driver license. California does recognize a valid driver license that is issued by a foreign jurisdiction (country, state, territory) of which the license holder is a resident.
