That was my greatest fear about sending the original that I discussed with my city clerk, elected to use her because she said she follow through if my wife's certificate was lost. They did lose my US birth certificate already, but that was only about eight bucks and easy for me to replace.

While we did get her passport in a thick overnight envelop, fortunately for us, her much more expensive to replace certificate did come in about three days later first class in a thin brown envelop from exactly the same address as her passport.

Why in the hell couldn't they put her certificate in the same envelop? Would have saved them a couple of bucks in postage. Was happy they included my thick cardboard backing wrapped in clear plastic for protection and had no idea why it ended up in New Orleans when the Chicago office is so close and certainly much dryer. What the heck was the name of that hurricane that missed New Orleans last September?

Anyway, you should have received your certificate by now, would follow through with whomever you applied your passport with.

Keep on hearing about a major drug problem this country has, yet any of my friends, relatives, or business associates are not taking drugs. The only people that are really weird is anything to do with our government, they must be taking these drugs, even that movie, Charlie Wilson's War pointed that out.

Worry.

In my case, it came next day after passport arrival.

Still Dept. of State Passport tracking online system said they have no record for my application.

I'm wondering how they can handle this kind of case.

Are they going to reimburse the cost for N-565 ?

Or are they going to ask USCIS to re-issue the certificate of naturalization ?
