Hi! I am a JUNE filler. My fiance is in Philippines. We have completed everything already. He is ready to schedule for Medical then INTERVIEW ( hopefully by December everything is done)......but I have a littlebit problem with my income last year since i was a newly graduate student. I graduated in the middle of the month of 2006. I did not work as a surgicaltech right after i graduate because ia was reviewing to be certified but it got deffered because i went to philippines 2007 nad this year 2008 ( i am still reviewing). Fortunately, i got a a job January 2008 and I am a surgical tech nurse now. I am working without my certification. My income last year was nearly to 14,000 ( the required income for the household size of 2). I am off to 100 bucks something ( haahahaha!!! :lol: ). I have a co- sponsor which is my brother but i heard Philippine embassy do not accept co- sponsorship. I have provided my income tax, Bank statement and letter of employment to my new Job.

I am nevrvous. Will everything be OK?

Also, on the form of I-134 "item #7" ( PERSONAL PROPERTY). What should i put there?

PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!! :blush::crying:

I hate to be the bearer of bad new, but $14,000 is the poverty level for a 2 person household. The requirement for sponsorship in this case is actually 125% of that figure, or $17,600. So, yes, you will need a cosponsor unless you have assets with a value of three times the amount you are short. If you are short $3,600 in income, then you will need to show proof of having at least $10,800 either in bank accounts, real estate holdings, investments or a combination. Keep in mind that this will only give you the minimum requirements, but is probably not a safe margin, since Consulates don't always follow the letter of the law.

I passed only showing income of $20,000 in 2007, but I did submit paystubs for 2008 showing an income of $35,000 as of the date of our interview. Whether those paystubs were even considered, I can't say. My point is that more than $17,600 would be advisable.

If you can't use a cosponsor and don't have assests to offset your lack of income in 2007, what about your 2008 income? You said you got a new job this year. Will your income in 2008 be sufficient? I'm not sure exactly what your options would be, but maybe you can delay your interview a few months until you can file your 2008 tax return and use that instead of 2007's. I know they may ask for 2 or even 3 years of tax returns as proof, but the bottom line is that if you know you don't qualify now, there is no point in having your case denied and having to start over. At least you MIGHT(emphasis on might) have a chance by delaying your case until you qualify.

I'm just thinking outloud here. I'm sure someone else will have some more information than I can give you.

Good luck!

Every Embassy is required to accept co-sponsors. So that is not a problem.

May be so but some C Os that do the interviews haven't been informed of such.

Sorry, not true. Try telling that to the HCMC Embassy in Vietnam.

The previous income is not important, You'r present job and income is ok so i don't see a problem with your case, So just sent your fiance a letter from your new employer and your pay stub and you are fine, Good luck and God bless, Actually the approval of the Co-sponsor is depend on the CO who will interview to your fiancee so just pray that she go to a CO who is nice and more considerate.. I know some people who got approved using cosponsor and don't have a problem,.

you can also include paycheck stubs from this years employment showing how much you have made this year to date. That should help show how much you are making as of now. Anything you can include that may help like money in savings accounts or properties owned can help also.
