Do you have an Aldi's grocery store near you? I saw pressure cookers in our Aldi's today for $39. Stainless, not aluminum.

Maybe I'll pot a plant in mine...I've no idea what to do with it

Gee, even I can cook rice, and I am a guy. 1 cup of rice to two cups of water, or 2 cups of rices to 4 3/4 cups of water, I haven't figured that out, but it's not linear. Bring to a boil, turn the range to simmer, timer to 15 minutes, kill the burner, and wait about five minutes, perfect every time. But still looking for a 2 quart sauce pan. Dang pan gets used just about every day for something or another. Wife is a bean soaker, she always had gas, er, a gas range, but I have an electric range with microcontrolled oven, even turns itself off, or can set it to warming, neat. Has a glass top that is easy to clean, gosh I saw her gas range in Venezuela, what a mess that was.

yes, I know how to cook rice, I have cooked plenty of rice without a rice cooker but ever since I started cooking with the gas stove I can't cook rice for the life of me...

and it is so simple with the rice cooker, you don't have to keep an eye on it or anything...
