My Senator's office called me today to give me an update on our status. They had contacted VSC and were told what we already knew and that they are processing cases for 2007 right now. The liaison told me that they would check back with me later which should be around 3 months from now. If you can have someone checking your mail that would great as payxibka was suggesting. Who knows if they will be able to get to the February cases by the time of your trip.

Everything I respond to is from personal knowledge, research or experience and I am in no means a lawyer or do I claim to be one. Everyone should read, research and be responsible for your own journey.

does your case show on the online system?

do you have someone who can check your mail while you are gone?

-yes, online system shows

Application Type: CRI89, PETITION TO REMOVE CONDITIONS OF PERMANENT RESIDENT STATUS RECEIVED

Current Status: This case is now pending at the office to which it was transferred.

On March 17, 2008, we transferred this CRI89 PETITION TO REMOVE CONDITIONS OF PERMANENT RESIDENT STATUS RECEIVED to our VERMONT SERVICE CENTER location

Then you can react accordingly if something happens during your time away...

YMMV

It might help, is not a guarantee.

There are many people that never received that their cases were transferred or that the status shows that...sometimes only shows that your receipt was accepted by VSC directly even you sent it to TSC.

If they send you a RFE or an interview letter it won't show in the online status either.

Since your case is FEB08, most likely you won't get any of those since they are not processing your case.

If you feel still nervous about it, then try to find somebody that you trust and may check your mail for it.

Enjoy your holidays...USCIS will have several recess at the same time you are living so we will see some "slow time" again...Thanksgiving, Xtmas, New Years and MLK weekend (Marthin Luther King Bday) and Jan 20th the new president officially takes office.

If you're worried that you might get an RFE while you're gone, why don't you prepare a package before you go of additional evidence that you might have since the time you submitted. Since you're husband is going to be checking the mail, if you receive an RFE the you're not going to have to fly back to send it.

Eventhough they're still processing 2007 cases, today there was an approval for a January 31 2008 filer, which I'm guessing you saw and that's the reason you're worried because it gives the impression that they're starting 2008 cases.

Try to get everything in order before you leave, give to your husband all the numbers available where he can reach you. Remember not to trust the online status for notifications on RFE and interviews, I've had both and my online status has not changed, not even a new date.

Good luck!

yes exactly, but i filed February 21 , then transferred to VERMONT on March 17..

you told me before, they are giving a month to send RFE. My husband is not able to send, he is so out of it. Actually i really don't know exactly what to send if they ask for RFE..i need to be here to prepare

i hope i'm not going to get anything except green card :star:

Correct, they give you a aprox. 1 month (make it 3 weeks) to send the RFE. But for an interview it's only two weeks, at least for me

Let's hope you only get your approval and that's it.
