Frustrated! File arrived at embassy in Kiev - can't schedule interview

I just called the call center, and they confirmed the file was input yesterday. They wanted to schedule our interview on December 2nd. When I asked for a date in January when I will be there - I was told that January dates would not be filled until the end of December. GRRRRRR!!!!:angry:

did you schedule or not? the interview for the most part is anti-climatic.... if your paperwork is complete, the toughest part of the interview for Vika will be travelling to Kiev and getting into the consulate...

PS... who was correct?

YMMV

You are definitely da man! Although I think 2+ weeks and "up to two months" are technically the same timeline, you definitely fell closer to the mark. Believe me, I am happy to report same..

And no - I did not schedule our interview. I need an appointment after January 2, when I am in Kiev. They won't schedule that date until the latter part of December, according to the call center.

Cheers!

Maybe this is a stupid question. When we called NVC they didn't give us the KEV number. However, I know the packet reached the embassy yesterday, November 27. Could I contact them by e-mail and just tell them petitioner/beneficiery last names and be able to get an update on our file? It says on the website I need a KEV number to contact them, which I don't have

you can try... you cannot call the appointment number with out it.... NVC should be sending the petitioner a letter as well

Oh man! Thats too bad you can't schedule further in advance than some certain point! My case will hopefully be put in the system any day now, and I was going to also schedule for the beginning of January... And that's a little unsettling to put that off till later in December.. What if they get booked up meanwhile? And when I call later, they will offer me february or smth?

It does not get easier in this process, does it? ;)

When you call they will offer the earliest available in the month they are scheduling.... or if they have a cancellation, the earliest available

considering that it appears they are scheduling about 2-3 weeks out, you ought to be able to time it as to when to make the call...

Yep, gonna have to do that. Thanks.

Brad, if that's not too much to ask for, please, let us know as soon as you are able to set the date you wanted. Thanks!

I'm curious why you want to be there for the interview, just for support or will you just stay with her until the visa is received and fly back together?

They scheduled our interview very quickly as well, I was shocked when we called on thursday and they scheduled for monday.

Iryna will be flying in on Dec. 2nd. I'm excited.

Hope it will all work out quickly for you guys.

She wants me there. I am sure it will be routine - but her comfort is my happiness. Seriously, she is SO nervous, I am happy to "back her up".

Hey thats cool. I wanted to do the same, but I couldn't get out of work soon enough. Iryna was nervous but brave. And besides, she is a lot more organized than me so it was probably better that I wasn't there :P

anyhow, a bit off topic. Where was the that bottom picture of the fountain with Vika taken? It looks a lot like L'viv.
