my partner called the department of state and asked if an interview date had been scheduled yet and she said no. he asked if she could give him any further information and she said maybe they hadn't received the forms at the embassy. that worried me, so i called the embassy on their extortion line to see whether the forms had arrived to put my mind at ease and i was told my case "qualified" last monday. i know there are security checks at every stage, is that what his comment was in relation to?

Qualified is a positive word! It is much better than what I am getting! Sounds like they have all they need and it won't be long now!

On my end, when I called DOS today as I do every Monday - I was told the embassy is waiting on something from us! First time I am hearing this...contacted the Senators office and they are inquiring for me now!

wow, well that sucks. i'm starting to think the dos don't know what they are talking about. did you get a woman who put you on hold for 5 minutes before dealing with your call?

i hope that your senator can get some information out of them and that you get some clear information soon!

Yes, well I now understand why others have called it the mis-information line! Now I guess I have to wait another day as the embassy is closed for the day

My love received a reciept for everything he sent to the Embassy - except for the RFE. So maybe that is what the DOS is inferring - so many assumptions without facts!

I hope you and your fiancee have an easy time of it all! So many others on this site seem to have!
