I got my GC back in September and have just been out of the US on vacation. When I came back in, the IO at the airport noticed what I'd only seen the previous evening.... that the "Resident since...." date is for 2009 and the expiration date for my 2-year conditional GC is 2011. These should read 2008 and 2010 respectively.

What is the procedure for getting these changed? Do I need to call USCIS, or should I make an Infopass appointment? I have been blessed with a pretty smooth Immigration process so far, and thankfully until now haven't encountered any major difficulties.

Use an I-90 form to have your card replaced. It took us about a month when my wife's came back saying her country of birth was Taiwan instead of People's Republic of China. Since it's their error, there's no charge. You don't need an infopass appointment. Just follow the I-90 instructions.

Make sure to keep a copy of everything. If you need to travel abroad again before you get the new green card back you can get a stamp in your passport through an infopass or walk-in. Bring an airline itinerary with you.

Thanks pushbrk. It's kinda disappointing, having been celebrating not needing anything more to do with USCIS for the moment! But hopefully it'll be something quick to alter, and at least I don't have to pay.

OK, so I've sent back the GC with the I-90 etc.

If I need to prove my residency status while I wait for the new GC, how can I do that? I don't have any stamps in my passport except my K1 which isn't exactly valid any more. I've received delivery confirmation of the wrong GC to USCIS, but I don't have any new NOA1 or anything like that to show that I'll be getting another one.
