Guns

Religion

Gays

NIce try but no cookie.

McCain mentioning gun rights at an NRA meeting is not quite the same as running around the country appealing to the "fanatical base"... as it was suggested.

Vid 2 actually shows Mac suggesting others *get involved* in the party to tone down factions they feel are two loud.... why even post that, it proved my point, not yours.

3. Again, Mac weakly responded to the topic of gays as it was thrown in his face.... as it were, he did not even respond to Ellen's stupid example of groups of people sitting in certain chairs.

If I were him, I would have spun it around on her and asked why, 3 and 4sums would then be

not free to marry too if she had her way by pulling up the ladder after her and her lebso girl friend were legal to be wed.

The Fact is, Johnny Mac's only move to address the more conservative in the party was the VP pick.

You might note that Polling number shot up for him at this only time during the race.

They dropped as the economic problems unfolded.

Yeah, poor Californians. Having put their tolerance on display, they surely deserve better.

Yeah, damn gays and their intolerance to adhering to other people's sense of marriage and outdated traditionalism.

"outdated traditionalism"

What are some more that are outdated or will be outdated say in the next 25-50 years?

*Please don't go "weak in the knees on me".

50 years ago know one would have suggested ** marriage.... so give me somethings no one

would be suggesting today.... we will be discarding in the near future.

I dunno about you, but I plan on marrying 3 dogs, my sister, and Spongebob. This is clearly where we're headed. Thanks for the insight, Danno.

There were states where 50 years ago it would have been illegal for me to marry my wife. Just because I happen to be white while she happens to be black. And believe me, there was enough opposition to change that. Fortunately, those on the right side of history have prevailed while the backwards crowd has lost. It happened before and it'll happen again no matter how loud the backwards oriented are squeeling. ;)

Not the same or even close. Marriage was still between a man and a woman when miscegnation was overturned. Legal mixed race marriage was not unknown in the US before Loving v. Virginia anyway. Personally, the ideals of San Francisco are not in the best interest of the country anyway.

The forces of yesterday called interracial marriage an abomination then and they're calling same sex marriage an abomination now. You can slice that any way you want to, the core of the argument was one and the same. But do stay on the losing side of history if that's the place where you feel comfortable.

Personally, if you think one's relationship with another individual should be set under the scrutiny of the rest of the country, you're full of sh*t, as I don't see you asking the country for it's acceptance of your relationship. Inform me if I'm incorrect on the latter part and you actually do.

Nice try but the problem with using race as a benchmark for marriage was shaky at best since we can be many degrees of many races.

Sex- male...... female......

see how easy that was?

Gay marriage, for sure. Haven't seen any evidence at all for your slippery slope.

As I said, you can slice it any way you want but the core of the argument of the forces of yesterday remains the same then and now: abomination.
