The other day a man agandoned an infant in the restroom of a McDonald's in Charlotte. Why McDonalds I have no clue. NC has Safe Haven laws for infants that can be left at hospitals.

Honestly, dropping off an infant to a hospital I can understand. But driving across country to drop off your teenager in Nebraska...? crazy...

Being in the same state would probably increase her chances of running into the kid sometime down the road. That or she might screw his new (foster) father and end up stuck with him again. There's very few words I can say to someone who'd just drop their kid off like this. All of those words are about as vile as the English language permits.

If all states have that safe haven law, WI must have it too. Wonder what this is costing us in extra taxes, shouldn't be over 50 bucks a year. On our tax income taxes after calculating your gross taxes, you can deduct 50 bucks for each kid, so the state must figure it only costs about a buck a week to raise a child. Certainly they wouldn't charge more than that to take care of unwanted kids.
