Hi everyone

My finacé is filing I-129F petition for a K1, and I have to submit my divorce certificate.

Can anyone advise if I can only submit the certificate or do I have to include the agreement with it?

My certificate has been translated in to English, and I'm hoping I dont have to have the agreement translated as well...that will delay the process by at least another two weeks :(

They don't need to see the terms of the divorce, custody or property settlement unless you're bringing children. In that case they need to see that you have full custody.

I think we've learned that the divorce decree or the decree of absolute... comes in many ways. Some are one page (with raised seal... like in MA) and some seem to be 20+ pages (like in TX). It's important to find out how it comes in South Africa... perhaps check the portals link or ask in the Regional forum?

good luck
