Im posting this one more time....im already here in the US under K3 and k4.Do we need that DS230?my husband paid $70 each for me and my 2kids and another 400. when NVC sent him the billings just before we came here in the US.When we called NVC,over a week ago about ds230 they said we dont have to do it instead do the AOS which we know.Whats the $70 and the $400 for?we're totally lost now.

The $70 and the $400 were fees for the CR1/IR1 visa. If you plan to adjust status in the U.S. rather than return to the consulate for the CR1/IR1 visa, then the money is lost. You only pay those fees if you intend to pursue the CR1/IR1 visa.

Thankyou for that reply.But why did they sent that billings and make us fee ,i'm sure that their aware about my petition applied which is k3?They sent my husband some letter,saying we need to send the ds230 form and they already received the necessary fees and they sent that a month after my interview which is ridiculous.They just sent the bill and no explanation what is it for and no enough explanation-so i feel like were a bit stupid for paying that fee without enough information regarding on what we are paying forI guess we just trusted this government well enough.On my understanding now,they stole our money,what a waste!!!

Just a note for the the agency! We're not stupid enough to go back to the Philippines just to do the CR1/IR1 thing..Seems like untill now,they dont know their job and how to do it right!

I wouldn't just blame them, you should have done your homework too. The applicant should be aware of what they are doing, no?

What confusion? Your question has been answered. You DO NOT need the DS-230. You are already here. You now need to adjust status.

Not blaming nobody.We were just hoping that they were more specific on every documents that their sending to the applicants.We just lost hudred bucks for nothing.,,Oh well!
