Thanks guys!! I haven't got my visa yet..I'm waiting for it, and it's a long weekend so,it's gonna be a bit of a wait.....( I'm just a human being who can never be satisfied..LOL)..I'm worried though because I read some post from VJ members that they got their visa a day after the interview, and I checked my tracking number a lot for the past 3 days and it hasn't been mailed, is it because maybe they forgot to get my passport pics on my interview? Im afraid they might send me a letter requesting to submit the photographs first before they release my visa..I was just so excited when I got approved on my interview that I didn't notice I still have my passport pics, but as I said I don't recall neither of the ladies who process my papers nor the interviewer asked for it.. But I'm still happy....just a little bit restless..

I had problems with pkg 3 and took a long time submitting it, but my case hasn't been touched since mid September. It seems that people who sent in pkg 3 just before or after me are getting interview dates for next month. I'm seriously hoping I'll be in the next batch!!

If I want to call, do I call MTL or DoS (1-202-663-1225) and do they have a holiday today like we do in Ontario? :help:

Have you confirmed with MTL if they have received your packet 3 documents (DS-230 part 1, DS-160, Document Checklist)? You can do that via email.

Once you have confirmed that MTL has your packet 3 docs and that you are in the waiting list for interviews, you can start contacting DOS to see if you have an interview -- with that phone number (202 663 1225).

That's the order that I did it in.

Empath, you can actually call DoS to see if Montreal got your Packet 3 as well....when I used to call to ask for the status of my case, they would tell me that Montreal had received my forms (packet 3), but I would do as Bauser said and email Montreal as well.

Francie, You only need the first shot to satisfy the requirement of the medical here in Canada, but you will probably need the other 2 shots for AOS....I was able to have my 2nd shot before i left as well, just because it was still in the timeline, and I will get my 3rd shot here :)

You apply after you are married, and within your 90 days. I think you need another medical done for AOS (someone correct me if I'm wrong), so if your shots are within the timeline, I'm assuming you need them done. My 3rd shot isn't until April, but I would just assume you would just get the shots when you're supposed to get them.

I tried calling DoS yesterday, to no avail... guess they might have been off for the holiday too, though the message only said the reps were on other calls and to call back later.

I had emailed MTL the week after I'd mailed pkg 3 and the reply was that they had no way of knowing whether or not it had been received. I was able to track their reciept through Canada Post though, so I knew they'd received it.

But all of that matters not now, because I got my interview letter today!! Woo hoo! I'm so excited I can't wait for Larry to come online so I can share the news with him. I soooooo want to call him and wake him up to tell him. LOL. He works nights though, so I'm trying to hold off til later. He wouldn't mind, I know, but .....oh man, I can't wait to see his smile!!!

I didn't think this letter was going to affect me so strongly. Here I've been taking it all in stride; some frustration with the fool applications, a little excitement when the petition was approved, a little more when pkg three arrived...... but holy moly, I'm so excited now I can't focus my thoughts. I had to come and post before I screamed with elation!!!!!!!!

Ok.....I'm calmer now.

(not)

...oh yeah, my interview is the 18th of March!!

I found out today that there is a new edition of the I-134 (Affidavit of Support) released in October 2008 that no longer requires notarization.

The old edition with notarization is still valid according to the USCIS website for the I-134. I didn't know about the new edition so I had my Fiancee's Dad (co-sponsor) fill out and notarize the old one over the holidays. I'm going to have my Fiancee use the new version just so we don't have to go through the hassle of getting to the notary. Hopefully there won't be any problem mixing the editions...

Did anyone who recently went for an interview (or is waiting for one) use the new version?

^^ That's interesting because the Packet 3 in November still had the old version.

On the appointment letter is says we need the Affidavit in duplicate, does that mean we need a photo copy or 2 notarized copies? We got one copy notarized, and can get another, but I am figuring they mean a photocopy?

Anyone know? I'm going to email them to check if no one knows, but I thought I would ask!

I only had one copy notarized, and brought a photocopy of it. That was sufficient.
