I have this really weird cold that has gotten into my eyes, resulting in very swollen funny-looking eyes. They're so swollen that you can't really see the white of my eyes, so I look like one of those weird black-eyed aliens from a bad tv movie.

I went to the doctor today and she said I was going to look like this for four or five more days. Of course I have my biometrics tomorrow so I'm gonna have a funny-looking picture! I assume this is the picture that goes on my green card. Is that true?

There's diamonds in the sidewalk, the gutters lined in song

Dear I hear that beer flows through the faucets all night long

There's treasure for the taking, for any hard working (wo)man

You could always go there and ask if if they could take your picture when your eyes have cleared up. I don't know what the people are like at your biometrics office but when I went for mine they were very nice and probably would have understood the situation.

Wow, I'm so sorry to hear that! When I look at my GC, I can't see the whites of my eyes either, and I had no infection, so it might not make a difference. Actually, the picture on the GC is not a very good picture because of all the whirly-gigs on it. Let us know what they say! Hope you're feeling better soon. (F)

Ugh, that sucks :(

Hope you're feeling better soon!

On the plus side, tho, if they refuse to let you take a new picture you could always get your revenge by rubbing your eyes and then touchign everything they own

I like your way of thinking Maeve, except those poor biometrics workers are not the "enemy".

I hope you get better quick GypsyAngel.

As far as photos on cards....they are so rough looking and so pale and so small that it doesn't really matter.

What I find disconcerting is the thumb print on the resident card.

This bugs me...presumed "guilty" before innocent.

BUGGERS!
