Has anyone had any problems getting their appointment letter in the mail in India. I know the postal system over there is not reliable. At least some of the stuff I mailed to my husband, never got to him and some did.

However, inspite of the fact that the address was correct on the K3 paperwork for my husband, somehow he did not receive his appointment packet after they said they sent it and now it has been 10 days since the day it was send sent. He now has to go travel 9 hours to the embassy to get a duplicate.

What is wrong over there?

I'm also worrying the same thing. My case is completed and not once my hubby got any letter from NVC like ds3032 or ds230.

Where do you from? My husband would also have travel like 8 hours for the embassay. We should be close since it looks like our timelines are same.

Have you received Interview letter in USA? If yes, then do scan it or fax it to your husband, he can use that copy for his medical or paying fee at VFS. He can also get copy of interview letter from consulate itself at any given official day.

Best of luck.

Yes, the mail system in India is horrible. Packages get lost or not delivered through laziness very regularly and sometimes they are opened and have their contents raided by people. In sending things to him I would suggest, if you can possibly afford it, that you use FedEx, which is excellent, and always gets things from the states to my fiance in Lucknow within 3 days. Regarding his appointment letter though, I would contact the consulate and request that the mail another copy to save him the trip. The embassy did that for us at one point. You just may need to ask them a few times because, as I'm sure you've noticed, they're not the best at getting back to folks unless you pester them repeatedly...

They told him they sent it on OCT 22nd and the post office told him that he should have received it in 3-4 days. (which was before the holidays)

I am going to called the NVC sometime when I get through to verify that they have the right addresses.

Thanks for the input on the appointment letter. So, on the CR1 - I should be getting a copy of that appointment letter? If so, I will send him a copy of that for sure.

I can't image what was wrong with the address. I know it was right when it went up the the USCIS.

Also, if he gets that K3 appointment letter, can he go ahead and do his medical? Even if he decides to go with the CR1? I am still hoping the NVC can get the paperwork over to the embassy before the K3 interview and just change it to a CR1 on that date.
