Wow...What happened to everyone? Hope all is well.:unsure:

I am here...I haven't been on in some time...makes me sad. So here is what has been going on in my case. My husband and I vacationed in Trinidad for the New Year. He stayed for a while after I left for work. As soon as he returned to Guyana, I got notification from immigration that they needed a certificate of good character from Trinidad. He lived there as a minor and young adult...apparently immigration changed the timeline and now they are requiring one. (Don't mind that the website still says we don't need one, but we are used to them changing the rules as we go!) Could they have asked for it when he was still there....of course not, so we had to wait until we had money and someone who was on their way there to take the paperwork for us. Now he is supposed to be mailing it to me tomorrow. Once I receive it, I can overnight it to immigration and I am hopeful that by the end of this year he will be here. Looks like many of you got an interview only a couple of months after approval from NVC....my fingers, toes, and eyes are crossed.

I apologize for not being more present for everyone. I see now, that I feel better after reading all of your posts, so I will make an effort to be on more often. I am back in the classroom teaching and working on my doctorate so I am busy but I will definately make time. Congrats to those of you whose husbands are here. It does my heart good to know that the end of the tunnel is closer.

Thank you to all of you for your support.

Just curious -- quick question to all of you dealing with Guyana...

Did you get married in Guyana or US or did you file for a fiancee visa?

I'm new to all of this and my guy and I are trying to figure out what approach we want to take...

Well my husband and I first filed a fiance visa and we were denied. In fact, three of us were denied right after one another. We all had to go back to Guyana and get married. Two of us signed papers only and one of us did an acutal wedding. So far we all got through except for me. I'm still waiting for an interview date which will probably be in December. I think with Guyana, you have to have lots of evidence of your realationship and being married is much better to them. I did know of a girl and guy who got a fiance visa earlier this year. But that's all I know of as far as fiance visa's go. I don't think they hand those out so often. So far this year. I know of 5 people of are married and went in for their interview and got through.

I hope this helps. Let me know if you need any help - I will be more than happy to help you out.

Hey all, I did love reading your interesting posts, had a few laughs, thanks a lot.

I filed the I 129, back in June, got a NOA2 on September 18, and I am, or rather my fiancee is in the process of returning her interview readiness forms. So here we go shortly waiting on that interview date.

You guys may find this interesting, my fiancee has 6 children all under 21, and I did list them on the petition. The oldest at 19, we just discovered she is 5 months pregnant, so she is not coming. Do you guys think, this may pose a problem for us. I called DOS a few days ago to enquire if the embassy had gotten the petition from NVC and the rep was very alarmed. She said, "WOW, your are bringing 6 kids, we have never seen anything like this, best of luck" Why do I think they will focus on the kids and not the evidence of the relationship. I am tempted to have her come and list the kids "To Follow" in the event they do decide to deny and save $131 x 5, and the costs of medicals for the five kids. Now, if they do approve, mind you we do have all the evidence of relationship you can possibly have. They can come within a year.

Share your thoughts ladies and guys.
