Hi all

We are sending our 3rd petition, the 2 others was lost, but during that time my fiance's mother has passed away unexpected, my fiance is the u.s. citizen.

We were planning to live with her for the first few months of my arrival, then he would find an apartment, but as things now changed, we dont know yet where to live.

So we are just doing this I-129F petition, and it says where we plan ME to live in the U.S, but since we are talking months and months before I will move there, he isnt looking for an apartment yet, he lives with his dad and they are already many in the household, he is 19 and starting on his university on September next year.

So basicly my question is what should we put in as my adress in the U.S. when we dont know that yet?

Has anyone been in the same situation, we dont want to get RFE'd for it, since we already lost too much time due to our 2 lost petitions, so it would be a great help if anyone could help us sort this out.

If there is any questions, feel free to ask, thanks for reading :)

I would use the address where your fiance is living at the time he mails the petition. It that is his father's home then all the better.

I see, thanks for your answer.

But I wont be living there, because when the time comes for me to get my visa (hopefully), he will already have an apartment, that would be in another state because of his university, but should I then just put his(and his fathers) adress untill we know where to live and they tell them or something? :)

The other poster is right... list the current address. If your fiance moves inform USCIS immediately.

Just another vote towards listing your fiance's current address.

As an aside, is your fiance aware of the affidavit of support form he will have to fill out later? There will be a requirement that he meets 125% of the current poverty level.

I only mention this because I read that he will be a student, and it could be difficult studying and working enough to meet this requirement. If he doesn't meet this, he may want to start asking his father or another family member to bea co-sponsor.

Best of luck!

Hi Luckyducky

Yes we are aware of that, we were actually supposed to use his mother as our co-sponsor but since she passed away, we are looking for another one, we haven't found one so far, but we will soon :)

Thanks for your reminder :)

Sure thing! Since it happens later in the process and, from reading some stories on here, a few people get surprised by it. It's sad to read about couples who get so far, but then find out they can't meet that requirement! :(
