Hey guys, I need some advice. I've been waiting for my work permit for about 7 month now due to my 2 R.F.E's. Finally

my case is with National benefits center. It's been about a month with them, I really don't know how long it will take them

to process my case. As you guys know you can't even make a drivers license or go to school with out a work permit.

Me and my wife were wondering If we should contact our congressman in cali to speed up the process? I am on k1 visa.

Thank you in advance for all your suggestion.

Work permit is not needed to apply for school. My wife enrolled at the community college long before getting green-card and never applied for EAD, the SSN was sufficient for college, and other things.

Yes many states require EAD or Green-card to get a driver's license.

You may try an info-pass appointment to see about EAD status, they may expedite the EAD for you.
