Me, too. I've searched this website from top to bottom for people adjusting from a J-1 and couldn't find anyone willing to share their experiences. Thank you, finally!

Oh good. I'm glad there is more than just me. I felt like everyone was an F student. We should definitely share experiences since it seems that K visas and the F students are treated a little differently to us. I can't believe how long EAD is taking. I think I will actually have my Green Card first.

nope, I didn't

And now I'm starting to believe what Kstar said, I know a guy that lives in the same city as me, he was a F1, sent everything abt 15 days before I did and guess what?He already had his interview and received his green card, how come? The same local office, basically the same time frame the only difference was the visa, so that got me wondering...

Did you get your final approval letter from USCIS yet? I only got the favorable recc. from the DoS which I used in my AOS application, but I have yet to hear anything further on the waiver from USCIS.

You can get advanced parole if you wanna go see your mom. You don't have to wait for the green card. I have been waiting for over 4 months for ead, so I am doing info pass tomorrow. I didn't have the 2 year rule thankfully. Hopefully everything goes well for you guys that do. I feel like everyone gets processed faster than us. I would love to hear about J-1's that had their AOS interview. I wonder if they ask if you intended to get married when you came here and try to prove you did...

I don't know/can't tell if I was ever illegal, coz I left my au pair program to get married and don't know if my agency ever canceled my visa, so I'm no gonna take the risk, that's why I can't use the AP...

Yes I got a letter from USCIS and that is the letter that I included in the AOS package. How long has it been sicne you recieved a favorable letter? I believe that it only took like 1 or 2 weeks after I got the favorable recomendation for me to get the official USCIS letter.

Regarding proving our intention, I really do not think it should be harder than with other visas. It should be similar than people with student visa and easier than those with visitor visa. I do think that the process may take longer because they want to make sure that we had no intention and that we are a legitimate couple... but that should not be that hard to prove... hopefully  I am thinking of showing them my ticket to Costa Rica, which was both ways, and just show them some ties I have back home. Like a bank statement, and a car that is under my name back home... And just focus on proving that you are inlove with your couple, having lots of picture, letter, affadivits, etc...

Best luck to all of you!

I got my favorable recc. on Sept. 22-still haven't gotten the official letter yet. I need to check with them to see if it was returned- I changed my address (did not remember that).
