I am embarrased for this. I'll go to my medical soon. How much exam will they do for the woman? I think I'll have my cycle at that time. If ever they will require that exam, maybe I should delay? :help:

They'll do a physical (wherein you are asked to strip), if you have you're period... you'll be asked to come back in 3-5-7 days.

Dont worry... its just basic tests (except you'll disrobe completely during the physical).

- Xray

- Blood test

- Urinalysis

- Weight and height

- Eye exam

- BP

- Physical exam

- Vaccines

That is if they dont see anything else that needs further probing. :)

I'm waiting for the letter from USEM, I'd like to ask if you need to call St. Lukes for medical appointment or is it a first come first serve basis? Thanks!

Oh no! I've never had this :( . What kind of probes?

don't worry. they won't put any probe inside you. If you have a period you can just delay your medical exam 3 days after the last day of your period. The medical examiner won't see you if you have your monthly period and will ask you to come back which is a hassle.

I understand the embarrassment. Don't worry about it though, I would advise that you tell the attendant that this is something new and all weird to you and they should be able to adjust and do it in such a way that does not seem very intruding.

No need to call St. Lukes. Its walk-in. Be early.

You still need to show them your letter. Also avoid Mondays and Tuesdays. There are more people on those days.

You can always have an early medical (before your expected menstrual period) or you can do it after your period. They (Panel Physicians) are no longer allowed to touch/probe private parts- all they will do is to ask you to bend down and they will just take a peek (also to check for hemorrhoids or skin tags). They don't usually do a "complete/thorough physical exam" as it will be too tiring and time consuming for them to check all those applicants thoroughly.

No need to call SLEC for an appointment, just show them your appointement letter. And Jose Rizal is right, try to avoid going there on a Mondays or Tuesdays and also Fridays. They are usually not that busy during Thursdays though.

Good Luck on your medical and interview. God Bless.
