My fiance is in South Africa. I am in the US. We applied for our K1 Sept 15 and the first was approved. Now we are waiting for our second I-129F to be approved in Feb. I am wondering how long it will take for him to get here? Or anyones story? Is the embassy fast? We are wondering a time frame. We are so ready to be together and just want to know how much longer it will be. We thought 5-6months but the stories I have read are very discouraging.

The first thing you should do is to fill in your timeline. and then you will get an estimated date of adjudication for your NOA2

I think what you mean was for first approved you got your NOA1 which means that they have received your application and it is going into processing.

No one can give you an exact date it is a waiting game to be honest I have been waiting for my NOA2 since June, but some people who filed after me have received theirs.

Good luck with your journey, you will have to learn to be patient

You filed on September 15th and you got your NOA1. I assume you mean you are waiting NOT for your second I-129f to be approved but for your NOA 2.

You can't expect an answer of how long it will take, no matter how much you'd like one. This process varies from case to case.

You can expect about 4-6 months for an NOA 2, not for the visa to be granted. However, that's assuming all things go well and your NOA2 is granted with no problems (which for you I hope it will).

From then it needs to be sent to the NVC, then from the NVC to the respective embassy. Then the embassy needs to schedule you an interview date.

From NOA2 to NVC should not take long (about two weeks), however I have heard horror stories. From NVC to embassy, it could take a long time or it could be really quick.

Then when it reaches the embassy, this is when the waiting usually begins again, as you have to wait for the embassy to schedule you an interview date (not sure about your embassy so it'd be better for you to research your own embassy and ask people who have gone through/are going through your embassy to get a better idea).

This is not a short or easy process by any means, so you've got to practice patience and eventually you'll get through it.

Good luck to you.

So that was very fast huh? Thanks that's encouraging to hear! Does anyone have experience from SA?? I have never heard one story from there. I am desperate to hear someones story from there.

Hi there,

My fiance is from South Africa, and finally he's here!! It seemed like it took forever, but basically from the time our petition was mailed off, til the time he entered the US, was about 6 months. We had an attorney, which I think helped to speed things along. Hang in there! I know EXACTLY what you are going through. We are now about to enter the AOS process, but at least he's here and we can tackle that one as a team together.

Take care and good luck!
