HELLO EVERYONE, :D

I am new to this website and decided to join to get all of your help while I proccess the K1 visa. I am the U.S. petitioner and my fiance is from Mexico.

I am about to send in all the forms (I-129 F, etc.), to start the K1 visa process. I will probably send in the forms by mid June. But, I wanted to go visit my fiance in Mexico for the entire month of August. I was wondering if anyone knew if there will be any problems if I go down to Mexico and visit him during this time? I shouldn't get anything back within that time period, right? I say this because based on what I have read from all of you who post on this site, it seems that it's taking around 3 months (or longer) for you to get any notices about further action needed to continue with the K1 visa.

I am just worried that while I am gone visiting my fiance in Mexico, I will need to submit other documents.

Please help me out with any information, tips, suggestions while I begin my journey :)

Best of luck to all of you that are going through this similar process.

I think you should be fine. The only thing you will pretty much recieve within those two months is NOA1, BUT you may also get an RFE (request for evidence) while your gone and if you dont give them what they ask for in the timeframe, they may deny you. I know CSC has been slow lately so I doubt you will get the NOA2 until after august. Perhaps someone else give an opinion.

The California Service Center took just under three months to send me back my NOA2 so I think you will be okay to go visit your fiance for the month of August. If you send your I-129F packet to the CSC in the middle of June, you will probably get your NOA1 around the end of June or beginning of July and then your NOA2 around the end of August.

Is there somebody who can check your mail for you while you are gone? Maybe they could look to see if you get a RFE because that is the only thing you would really need to reply to quickly. If you follow the instructions on this site, you most likely won't get an RFE though.

Hope this helps.

Yes, there is someone who can check my mail while I am gone. But what may they request in the RFE? The type of evidence I have to send include emails, tons of pics, calling cards, boarding passes from the times I have gone to visit him. If I do get a RFE, what may they want?

Do you think it's best that I submit the I-129F packet until late July instead rather than in June?

Thank you all who provide any information, ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING helps me out :)

Don't wait until July to send in the packet because that will only delay the process. I didn't get an RFE for my packet and I sent in a lot of the same evidence you did. I had seen my fiance four times in the two years leading up to the application so I submitted passport stamps, boarding passes, and pictures from each of the four times we saw each other. If you do the same, you shouldn't get an RFE.

I haven't seen anything about the additional information that will be gathered on the USC's criminal background.

I believe some on VJ have speculated that until the new form's on-line, RFEs will be sent out or something to that effect.

The first thing you'll get should be the NOA1 hardcopy by USPS. I think mine came back just over two weeks later.
