hello guys...

im in the same boat as you are... soon as i got my EAD, i applied for SSN right away... been more than 2 weeks now, called SSA and even went to the office for the 2nd time.. all i got was they havent received any response from USCIS yet... so i was advise to wait or call USCIS for that... i called USCIS and said to schedule myself for an INFOPASS, well i didnt... so my plan is just to call SSA again this week hoping they have received what they need from USCIS and just wait... anyways i can still work while waiting for the SSN...

hope we get a clear answer to this SSN issue!!!

Because in some cases (seems yours) when SSA submits the electronic verification, immigration requests to see a copy of the immigration document. The copy of the front and back of the immigration document is mailed to immigration along with Form G-845 and then it gets mailed back to SSA. SSA needs to allow a month for a response before following up.

You need to go back into the office to find out what's going on. Be sure to have ID with you, i.e. passport, driver's license.
