Well after work today we're going to try and get some sleep and then wake up at 1:00 am and start our 14 our drive up to Matatchewan, Ontario - kind of near Kirkland Lake. We're going to my family reunion and we're all going to be camping. Yes, camping in September but the bugs aren't bad and its a nice time of year. I am pretty excited.

Not really excited about not having a proper shower for three days but excited about seeing my family and having smores.

mmm smoressss. Have a great time, Nev. Make sure you bundle up!

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

Thank you.

Mike went to grab sleeping bags from his parents house yesterday and I swear these things are from the 70's.

They don't even look like sleeping bags.

He thought I was a snob for promptly washing them all. But they've been in his parents basement for more than a decade, I wasn't about to just use it like that. I don't think that makes me snobby.

Ahh yes I will wear warm jammies for sure. I have one piece pjs with feet...and a trap door and yes I do plan on wearing them.

Mike wants to stop in Swastika and take pictures. He thinks its hilarious that there's a town named that. I guess I'm just used to it and I don't really find it all that odd.

I will...I miss my family soo much.

Now that we're out of the house I just find my MIL to be even snottier than ever, I just don't feel any connection to his family at all. I miss family. :(

Fall camping is wonderful! I miss it from my re-enacting days. If you expect it will get really cold, bring a hot water bottle and put it in your sleeping bag or blankets before you get to bed - oh, and put hot water in it first! :D Enjoy yourself!

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Take him a little farther north to see the Polar Bears in Cochrane. Maybe say "Hi and give a hug to my daughter"....
