ok...I have asked a similar question before, but I'll ask away again:

Does my fiance need to have his k-1 within a certain time frame since I have gotten the notice of approval for the I129-F. What I mean is, I noticed on my NOA2 that it is valid between 7/01/08 - 10/31/08. Does that mean he must have been interviewed AND approved for the k-1 by 10/31?

I haven't sent him the affidavit yet, for several reasons -- none of them very good ones. How would would we go about filing for an extension if need be? I need some reassurance that I haven't messed this all up, or at the very least, I need a nudge in the right direction. I'm a little panicky as of now.

thanks.

2/4/2008 ------- I-129F sent to CSC

2/6/2008 ------- I-129F received CSC

2/7/2008 ------- check cashed

2/13/2008 ------ received NOA1 in mail

7/1/2008-------- NOA2!

The approved petition (I-129f) has an expiration date of 4 months - however virtually every Embassy/Consulate will extend this as a matter of routine if the case is taking longer. Not to worry.

So we don't need to file a formal extension with the Consulate in Naples?

More than likely no - if concerned (as you probably are) have him (or you) contact the embassy/consulate to inquire (Embassy Contact Information).
