Note, there's video of interview with student in linked story....

Oh, and thanks again for these are exactly the kinds of things happening that will assure McCains win!

Metro State College in Colorado is investigating a professor who asked students to write an essay critical of Republican vice presidential candidate Gov. Sarah Palin. One student said the instructor singled out Republican students in the class and allowed others to ridicule them.

"I was shocked, I was holy cow, this is just an open door for him to discuss politics with us," said Jana Barber, a student in the class.

Barber shared the first class assignment with CBS Station KCNC-TV. Instructor Andrew Hallam asked students to write an essay to contradict what he called the 'fairy tale image of Palin' presented at the Republican National Convention.

"What the faculty's responsibility is to provide opportunity for critical thinking and civic engagement so bringing something of relevancy into the classroom was the faculty's goal," said Cathy Lucas, spokeswoman for Metro State. "Should he have broadened it and included all the political figures, yes."

Metro State officials are investigating claims of bias, harassment and bullying.

OK - so a college professor of an undefined college course (presumably... politics?) set an assignment that betrayed a political bias (an assignment that was subsequently revised).

Now... why is this newsworthy?

It continues to reinforce my assertions that liberals, and almost exclusively liberals, are engaged in these kinds of behaviors.....

There's a latent militancy and disturbing disrespect for anyone of opposing views......

This is simply one of many examples- just look at the MS's behavior in the past three weeks!

i think we were supposed to feel sorry for the "hard done by" republicans, because republicans would never dream of saying anything bad about democrats

Please cite any example of this kind of behavior commited by any conservative in a position of responsibilty, or in the MSM.....

And please, make distinction between political commentary and " objective journalists".....

It continues to reinforce my assertions that liberals, and almost exclusively liberals, are engaged in these kinds of behaviors.....

uh huh, because mccain never brought up race every five minutes in an attempt to denigrate obama's reputation, right?

Please cite examples and quotes.....

What do you expect Kaydee? That's the librul education system. It's about time we closed all these elitist schools and threw the elitist professor scum out on the streets where they belong...

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

But you're stereotyping again. You see - you've classified me (and others here) as stereotypical liberals and speaking for myself I'm not going around doing this sort of thing. I'm not supporting it either - I have no affiliation to the college, to the teacher or to his class. I could honestly care less about it. In short, I don't think its newsworthy.

On the other hand I do find it rather laughable given that you insist on dealing in bald stereotypes, that you think you have credibility in making this argument. You consistently show none of the respect that you seem to demand - so I find it difficult (at best) to take you seriously.

"Metro State officials are investigating claims of bias, harassment and bullying."

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

So McCain brought race into the equation right. What day did Obama make his speech on at the DNC again? That wouldn't just so happen to be a significant day for a certain 'race' now would it.

PS The term redneck is actually racist.

Hey, you're the first to go to the gutter when users here disagree with you. Your leanings are clearly left. You engage in the same behaviors.....

And yes, there are exceptions to the rule, but the sterotype typifies the activism associated with liberals exclusively.....

It goes to the "guns and religion" comments made by "the one".....Liberals are inherently militant and disrespectful of their opponents, and are rabid when threatened......unfortunately the don't recognize their own bad behavior.....

This seems relevant here. It's from another thread but typifies "classic" liberal beliefs......and uses their conservative sterotype to reinforce their notion that conservatives are "stupid", "religious", etc......

people still think obama is a muslim?

Yep, McCain-Palin win over super-rich, religious zealots and stupid people. In the era of wedge politics that's at least 51%

Stats would be great !!

Sym, you're living up to your model sterotype image by such posts......

and i didnt see anything in those links speaking about religious zealots and stupid people....

Brit, sym is fielding the same argument that liberals use all the time. Those that don't agree with them must be intellectually deficient.....or "cling to guns and religion", etc......

It's "classic" liberal behavior- use character assassination, class warfare, vitriol, and anything that will reinforce the false notion that liberals, and therefore they themselves, are superior to their opponents and all knowing.

It’s what they do….Sym, don’t be ashamed of this, it’s simply "normal" for you as you’re a liberal. There are some that behave exactly as you do in these threads but want to deny their association to the label “liberal”…..

Hey, if it walks like a duck, quacks like…….it must be a duck!

As someone from Redneck Central I can assure you it isn't and people will quite proudly call themselves RN...heck I even remember a huge hit song by Gretchen Wilson not that long ago titled "Redneck Woman."
