after I receive my NOA1, will I then know my reference no. or case no.? how do I check with the USCIS to find out updates on my case? I hear everyone tracing their cases "touches" and I just want to know how I will do this? Will this website trace my case from the NOA1 all the way to when it is mailed to NVC or all the way to Juarez?

After you receive your NOA1, you can create an account at USCIS, and enter your case number to the created account, with that you´ll be able to view your current status as well as the last update date. A touch is when they have changed the last update date without changing your status. It means someone looked at your case.

Go to USCIS.gov and click on "Case Status & Processing Dates" on the right side. On the next page that opens, click on "Register" on the left side. Then follow the steps to register. Then you'll be able to check the progress of your petition online and have the option to receive email notification when you are approved. You will get a case number when your I-129F has been approved. USCIS will give you a different number while your petition is being processed.

if i remember well, you can trace both, first with your A# and then when your case is sent to juarez with your CDJ# ok
