Palin ironically is what the Dems have been beating on about since day one. "C h a n g e"

Who is greater change, two senators (basically same old same old) or someone who is completely outside the DC arena. Someone who has not been influenced by the political games of the American senate.

Also, we are are told Biden knows about the working man. LOL. Biden has not held a job in the private sector since 1972. Nonetheless, both Obama and Biden are ex lawyers. A career which hardly represents, let alone understands, the average American.

Foreign experience is irrelevant. The American government needs to focus on America and stop meddling, and interfering, in other nations affairs. Especially at a time when the country is almost bankrupt and while the 60's built infrastructure is falling apart.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

Article neglects Foreign Policy experience:
  • Palin is incumbent governor of a US State which borders on two Canadian subentities (British Columbia Province, Yukon Territory) by land and has maritime border with Russia (Big Diomed Island of Russia is 4 km from Little Diomed Island of Alaska)--inevitably dealing with these involves a minor matter of Foreign Policy
  • Obama, prior to Senate campaign had ZERO FP experience (having lived as a child in Kenya and Indonesia DOESN't qualify)

Doesn't that make the initial response to the Palin choice a little surprising?

"Today, John McCain put the former mayor of a town of 9,000 with zero foreign policy experience a heartbeat away from the presidency. Governor Palin shares John McCain's commitment to overturning Roe v. Wade, the agenda of Big Oil and continuing George Bush's failed economic policies -- that's not the change we need, it's just more of the same."

Sen. Obama AND Sen. Biden are both on the Foreign Relations Committee at the Senate.

So what? She has decades more experience being in Alaska than any of them do. It's closer to Russia, and on occasion they have 20+ hours of sunlight.

Dude that has me sold. I am going to vote for McCain now!

I think I just puked a little. :o

Yeah... I'll vote for McCain when he promises free preventative national health coverage for all USCs and Residents, higher taxes for the top 2% of American earners, lower taxes for the other 98% of American earners... investment in funding American educational requirements, awarding positive results throughout the process... investment in switching our foreign capital investments from a model that takes without giving back to sustainable models of foreign development... need I say more?

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

So the lack of investment must be responsible for the abysmal performance by American students. Yep. Next

For example??

Palin:A woman with a wide range of interests in a well-variegated life. Held a succession of jobs - sports journalist, commercial fisherwoman, state oil and gas commissioner, before entering local politics. A resume that suggests something other than burning political ambition from the cradle but rather the sort of experience that enables her to understand the concerns of most Americans..
As an Alaskan who can't WAIT to get someone, anyone else as governor, I have to inform you that you need to get your facts straight. Palin entered local politics before getting on the oil & gas board. She was mayor of Wasilla and had run for Lt. Governor. The O&G board job was simply payback from one republican (Murkowski) to another. She was also a political science major. Hardly what one would expect from someone who didn't have political ambitions.

Palin: Elected to statewide office by challenging a long-serving Republican incumbent governor despite intense opposition from the party.
Uh, no. She challenged a single term governor who was the local equivalent of George Bush. The man she defeated was almost universally hated by all walks of life in Alaska and is considered the worst governor, ever.

Palin:Makes executive decisions every day that affect the lives of 500,000 people in her state, and that impact crucial issues of national economic interest such as the supply and cost of energy to the United States.
I guess her decisions don't affect the other almost 200,000 of us who live here in Alaska. Edited by akdiver

PEOPLE: READ THE APPLICATION FORM INSTRUCTIONS!!!! They have a lot of good information in them! Most of the questions I see on VJ are clearly addressed by the form instructions. Give them a read!! If you are unable to understand the form instructions, I highly recommend hiring someone who does to help you with the process. Our process, from K-1 to Citizenship and U.S. Passport is completed. Good luck with your process.

Are you people voting for a President or a Vice President?
Neither. They vote for electors, who will then decide who the president and vice president should be.

Interesting. Always good to get perspective from people who knew of her back in Alaska.

Yeah... I'll vote for McCain when he promises free preventative national health coverage for all USCs and Residents,

How is he going to pay for this?

Answer: Decrease porkbarrel spending on unnecessary defense contracts, increased availability of tax revenue from higher income brackets that currently are excused from paying into the US Treasury. Etc.

You may want to research the proportion of income tax to income cap on the progressive tax scale currently in use.

higher taxes for the top 2% of American earners, lower taxes for the other 98% of American earners...

Who already pay the majority of taxes. Lower taxes for the majority of others who already pay little to nothing. Next.

Response: Taxed little to nothing, yet overtaxed in proportion to their income. Versus those in the top 2%, that are relatively undertaxed since taxation is capped. In the long run, those in that top 2% would pay relatively pennies to each $100 in income more than they do now. A mere pittance that goes a far way in relieving the unequal distribution of wealth in this country. This is called taking care of the country. The entire nation.

investment in funding American educational requirements, awarding positive results throughout the process...

Response: You must know something I don't. Lucky for me, I was a teacher for a couple of years, and I got to see first hand what nearby schools called the 'Many Teachers Left Behind' ploy. But if you want to avoid join the chorus of overgeneralizing, perhaps you may want to research how long this abysmal performance has been going on.

investment in switching our foreign capital investments from a model that takes without giving back to sustainable models of foreign development...

For example??

Just one example: Investing in local initiatives that educate work forces to be able to better sustain local economies instead of merely seeking cheap labor. In turn, this reduces your 20 million illegal aliens stealing low-skilled wages from American labor. They stay home and develop stronger economies that... *cough* end up turning into stronger trading partners for us. We spend less on immigration enforcement. We all win.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

Unlike the Dems who are fiscally responsible.

The only tax which is fair is a flat tax. Something like a flat rate of 25% for all.

With regards to your last point. Here are the stats. #######!! The bottom 50% basically do not pay anything.

Everything is generalizing when it comes to you guys. I ended up in NW DC the other night. Forgot my GPS at home. Now that was an interesting sight. Yeah the lack of resources and segregation must be to blame for those areas. Plenty of time to hang around in the streets of a city with no opportunities for unskilled workers. Or is that the governments fault as well. I felt like shooting the f----n losers myself.

How will education prevent the 20 million illegal immigrants stealing American labor. Oh you mean America educate those other countries. With all of the trillions of dollars the country has right. The average American is so rich they do not know where to put their money right. We must seriously live in two completely different Americas.

Cool, I'll keep replying below.

Well, you may be right on that one. Perhaps if this upcoming Dem could shake things up instead of playing the same game. Oh, and GOP fillibustering in Congress doesn't count.

OK, lets do a flat tax. 25% for all. That includes eliminating the income tax caps. Potentially increasing the amount of tax revenue paid by that top 2% bracket. Good luck getting votes. Unless, of course, you offer credits to earners that are NOT represented in the lower income brackets. Hence, allowing them to contribute fairly to the market economy we currently live in... Remember, a flat tax unfairly taxes more in relation to their lower incomes- which are indeed REALLY low relative to the top 2% of income brackets.

Displaying violent behavior again?? Naughty naughty...

For starters, once again, you fail to understand what is stated. I'll let you read that again.
