Hi Guys, I have a quick question. I have to fill out my ds-230 and there is question which asks how many times i have entered the states and on which visa. I was wondering if anyone can tell me what to put there as, being in Canada my whole life, I must've visted the states a million times, and I can't recall the dates.

Did anyone have the same issue, and if so, what did you guys put for that part.

Please help me, i wanna send this out ASAP and get my interview date, and get married, and live happily ever after!!!

I think most of us in your shoes just put "Many times a year, between 19XX and present, ranging in length from X hours to X days/weeks/months".

I said this:

"I have visited the US numerous times since I was a child and am unable to list all the exact dates prior to 2003. I have listed the visits I can recall to the best of my ability below. "

I started keeping track in 2003 so I listed all the times after that, with the dates and locations.

Being in the Military I had been to the USA countless of times and of course to see Meg. I Filled out as much of the boxes with the dates and as well attached a paper explaining the situation. Best of luck

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

On both mine and my hubby's part, we have both visited our daughter on many occasions, me more than him and I just put the month and the year and because I could not remember exact dates, just put 2 weeks each time. I am sure that what everybody has suggested to you would be just fine.

I just put:

1980-1998 approx 15 visits.

The dates after that I could just about manage! (though checking the expired passport, I found I got some of those wrong)

I just answered as accurately and honestly as I could (at the time).

I don't believe they could wish for anything better

They expect Canadians to take frequent visits to the US. We just put Frequent visits of no more than X days duration between 19XX and 200X.
