Greencard received--birthdate wrong

Hi all,

My husband was so happy to receive his 10 year card in the mail today, but much to our dismay they put the wrong birthdate on his card! I called the uscis info line and they told us we will have to file a form I-90 to get it fixed, and that it will take up to 6 months to receive the corrected card. How annoying!

In the meantime, we need to make an Infopass appointment to get his Passport stamped tp reflect his current status (so he can travel, for work purposes, etc.).

My question: does anyone know what category I would have to choose to make an Infopass appointment? I looked on the USCIS website and it was confusing...

I'm sure that there have been many posts already answering this question, but please forgive me for not having the energy to do a proper search right now--I've got a brand new baby at home!

Thanks in advance,

Carolyn

I would say the option for "other services". I actually don't think the category chosen is crucial. Sorry to hear they messed things up, so frustrating!

Congrats on the baby!

Just for information sakes, when I received my original Conditional Card back in mid October 2006, my middle name was spelled incorrectly. I had to send in a I-90 application showing the error was an administrative error on their part, so I did not have to pay a fee for the application. It took less then two months to get the new card. I mailed the I-90 late October, and received new card with correct spelling mid December.

I tried to make an Infopass appointment, but it listed NO dates available for the rest of August or September!?

What the heck? Did I do something wrong or do they add dates all the time?

Try using other categories then, and see what options present themselves. It appears that some options have few appointment requests than others. Keep trying until you get a date.

Keep trying for the appointments. You might get lucky and find new openings because of cancellations.

My 10-yr card had my name misspelt. The I-90 was received in CA in early May. Not a peep since then. When I went in for a stamp in July, Chicago office gave only a 60-day stamp saying the application is being processed and I would receive the replacement card soon. It's been about 6 weeks since then with nothing new. When you make it to the appointment, try and get a one-year stamp.

Good Luck!
