I put in an I129F application in March to CSC and have received no status until now. The website states that a document is undeliverable. I called USCIS and provided them another address (not a PO Box), and they said they would resend the document. They said that they had no idea what the document is, but I suspect it is the NOA1, since I never received it.

Does anyone have experience with this message? Does this pause the processing or does it continue even with this message? Any suggestions?

THANKS

I dunno if it's the NOA1. Because before I even got mine in the mail, I had a notice on my case that it had been sent. Did you ever see anything like that? I'm confused how, if it was NOA1, it was undeliverable... They're not certified or even signed delivery. Heck, when they sent back my entire I-129F petition they sent it regular mail and it has a lot more confidential info than a NOA1. The fact that they said they don't know what the document is though.....doesn't make sense. You think they'd keep track of what was mailed out...

Do you mean your NOA 1 or NOA 2? According to your timeline you have already received your NOA 1 on March 21st.

Why would they send you tis email saying they have tried to send you the NOA 1 but it's undeliverable, four months later? It may be your NOa 2.

I agree with asian man... if you have your case # / NOA1 (otherwise you would not be able to track case status ;) ) ... then this must be your NOA2! ;) I think if it was your hardcopy NOA1 it probably would have been dated a lot closer to your original filing date. ;) Hope so!

Thanks for these comments. I am in the military and currently stationed overseas. I provided my military address on the paperwork, but have never received anything by mail. I got my NOA1 info from the check that was cashed. I also got another notice like this 1 month ago, and I called to give them my parent's address. I called USCIS and they stated that they don't know what this document is. Is there a way to determine if it is the NOA2?

THANKS

Check the USCIS website.

The problem is the USCIS site is inconsistent their with updating for California filers.

When you call uscis you're talking to the call center 'misinformation' line who give standard replies. You could call NVC or DOS ..give them your case number and see if a new one has been issued. DOS can also tell you if and when the petition was sent off to the Embassy as well as if/when a package 3 has been sent out or an interview date sent. ;)

Thanks everyone. I called DOS (the number posted) and they said that they have no record of my case number. They said that means it hasn't been approved yet and is still w/ USCIS. I tried to call USCIS again and of course they didn't know what the status is other than there is a document they are trying to send me which they can't. They also don't know what the document is. Do you have any other suggestions on who I can contact about this?

Thanks

This is unbelievable to think about, and it actually pisses me off. I'm really sorry you're going through this bull****, you'd think that because it's the damn US government they wouldn't be so stupid and would be able to figure out this simple problem, but for some reason they are stumped on it.

I don't have any more suggestions for you other than to stay positive and you'll eventually wade your way through this #######. Sorry this is happening to you.

Good luck! :)

Because they have no record of it at DOS yet does not mean it hasn't been approved. ;) Some approved petitions are still taking some time to get the NVC from the USCIS in California. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it but some folks are just having to wait longer. If your paperwork was returned on Aug 15th then, depending on the address they tried to send it to, you could have been approved just days before you got the (returned) notice. We were approved last Wednesday and just got our hardcopy yesterday. ;) Try NVC or DOS again in a couple, two, three days. ;)

Keeping my fingers crossed for you and, like asian man, frustrated for you as well. We pay for a service and it's certain not fair that we can not find out what's going on with our petition at all times.

I actually got the same email today from CRIS, although mine was dated July 10 and only came after I had already called and said I hadn't received the NOA1 in the mail (and the woman at USCIS treated it like it was no big deal and could be sent out immediately). Basically, I called USCIS and spoke with the first woman, and then within 30 minutes received the CRIS email. When I called back a second time, I had to go through way more steps with the guy who answered the phone and then he gave me a super long referral number (probably at least 15 letters/digits, ending in CSC).

When you called back, did they give you a similar referral number?

Thanks for all this useful information. I just wanted to provide an update. I called CSC again and they couldn't help me. However, after calling the NVC, I discovered that my case had been approved by the CSC and sent there. The website still says address undeliverable and when I updated my address, they never sent the document. I've yet to see an NOA1 or NOA2, but the case has already been forwarded to the NVC, so I guess it doesn't matter. Thanks again to everyone!

What a shame nobody could tell you you were approved. Congratulations nonetheless! :)

It's advised to send a copy of the NOA2 (I797) to your fiance for his/her interview. Perhaps that wont be an issue for you but you'll need it for adjustment so i'd still try to work on that. :)
