First of all, I want to thank all the people who contribute to this board, the information on here is really good. I have actually compiled my entire packet and have not officially proposed yet since I will be doing that on my next trip with the information I found on here.

So here are my questions.

1. On the Fiance's address, all of the fields are set up for a standard US address (i.e 123 street rd; city, TX, 12345) but for addresses in Mexico the format is very different. It is something like:

123 street

col. ?????? (this is the colony name, kind of like a neighborhood)

12345, City, State

How do I reconcile the two and deal with the fact that the full address does not fit in the boxes provided. Also, how can I ensure that an appropriate mailing address makes it to the embassy.

2. I have dual citizenship so when I fly into Mexico I use a Mexican passport, when I fly back I use an American. Loosely this equates to no passport stamps (or at least not all of them) I doubt this is too problematic as it is perfectly legal, but is there something I should do or mention?

3. A lot of older posts refer to top punching and using ACCO clips, is this still the case or has this changed in recent times? How are people submitting their packets? A sample picture in the faq would be a nice addition :-) (I could send one in when I finish)

4. Do statements of intent to Marry need to be notarized or just signed?

5. My certificate of naturalization states in big red letters not to make copies. I feel like if they want a copy, I should send it, but it seems wierd. Also they want a copy of the blank back, so do I send a copy of a blank sheet?

I appreciate and thank you for your help in advance.

1. If you need to attach a separate sheet, do so.

2. You'll need primary evidence of meeting. With no passport stamps, you'd need boarding passes, receipts from hotels or ATM's in Mexico, etc.

3. Use anything you want to hold your papers together. They'll disassemble and reassemble them anyway.

4. Not notarized.

5. This is always a fun one. Copy the front side and then compare the back of the copy to the original. I'm betting they'll match.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...
