Said tried to send me money from Westn Union to pay for his ticket here and they wont let him send it. Has anyone else had this problem??? How can he send me money for the ticket, it is way to expensive to buy one there.

Egypt is the same way if using western union. Can he wire it to you from his bank account to yours?

My husband always wired it from his father's bank account to mine. It would usually take over a week and they would hit us on both ends with a pretty meaty wire fee.

Some countries only have incoming western union transfers instead of outgoing. I don't know the reasoning but that is what we have learned.

For some countries you can only receive money through WU, not send it, Nepal is the same way - I had this problem when my FIL tried to send me money when I had money stolen through an ATM scam in KTM and needed to get by for 1 week in Bangkok on my own - he tried to send me money in Bangkok but was unable to, WU said you can only receive $$ in Nepal. If you both have checking accounts and Paypal debit cards you can send money that way, cheaper than wire transfer I think.

Said told me that he was told that money doesnt leave morocco with out a good reason and he would have to get authorization from rabat to do this.

Did he try to use MoneyGram? I know they have this in Morocco too. But I would make sure he does look around for the ticket, there have been many times when it has been cheaper to purchase the plane ticket in Morocco than in the US.

well there are many ways to send money did he try money gram its kinda like western union another way if he has a bank account he can transfer the money to your bank account.

last and the best way if he has visa or master card maybe he can use it to pay for the ticket.

Kamal told me the same thing. Money can come into Morocco but cannot leave. So even if they do have moneygram he probably could not wire it.

Hicham told me the last couple of years that he was there it was very, very difficult to send money out. He just saved all of his money up from work for when he came home.

He isnt working and its almost twice as much for a ticket purchased there as to here online.

thats why he was going to send me the money so i could buy the ticket here.
