ty for replly smf,

i didnt meet the 125% but my co-sponsor meet the 125% is there gonna be problem?

There is no 125% requirement for sponsoring for a nonimmigrant visa such as the K1. The I-134 does not have this requirement. In fact, there is no requirement that a consulate use the I-134. The consulate in Manila does use the I-134 as a tool in assessing the possibility that the beneficiary will become a public burden. You will find that the Consulate in Manila does not entertain cosponsors for K1, but will look at the totality of circumstances in determining approval. If you are very low income you may have problems.

Casa Blanca is not Manila. There are definite difficulties in using co-sponsors for K visas in Manila.

Also, telling anybody they'll "be fine" is a few steps over the line of what any of us can actually know about any visa case, when it comes to critical issues.

For the OP, please tell us more about the circumstances now and what can or will change in the petitioner's financial picture. For instance, is the petitioner a student or just a low paid full time worker?

I think you should read the guides first, or search for this question on the forum as this SAME question is asked about 3-4 times everyday.

If you think about it this way, if YOU yourself meet the 125% above the poverty limit criteria then why would you need a co-sponsor?

I am a full-time student, have no income at all, had a co-sponsor, and my fiance just received her visa.

In Bangkok not Manila.

Correct. I was simply stating that my fiance received the visa no problems using the co-sponsor. I never claimed that my visa process went through Manila, I was just saying that we had no problems. I am aware that every embassy differs in it's acceptance of co-sponsors.
